DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

It is hereby announced for the information of the general Public, particularly Farmer’s and Farmer’s Co-operative Societies in the State that the Delta State Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has commenced the registration and verification of Farmers Co-operative Societies for participation in the “CBN Anchor Borrowers Scheme” for Farmers and processors in the production and utilization of rice, oil palm, fisheries and cassava in the State.

The objective of the programme is to increase Credit to farmers in order to boost production and raise capacity utilization in the agro allied industries.
To participate in the Scheme farmers must show evidence of ownership of land, and willingness to abide by the terms and conditions governing the programme.
Accordingly, the Delta State Government extends invitation to farmers and off takers engaged in the production and utilization of the four focal commodities mentioned above and has cooperative societies/processing entities to register same at the Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters at No 12, Chiedu Ezenyili Street Asaba.
Registration to participate in the “CBN Anchor Borrowers Scheme” is free and therefore does not attract any fee or contribution.
Therefore, famers in Delta State are by this announcement advised to register, in order to take part in the Scheme.
The decision of the verification Committee on the suitability of any farmer is final.
